Position Overview:

EEDAR, an NPD Group Company is the premier provider of business intelligence solutions to leading videogame companies.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, eager, professional Operations Data Analyst to join the EEDAR team at our Carlsbad office. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative environment among a group of fun and smart professionals. 

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and show interest in the Video Game industry.  This integral member of the Operations team will be responsible for the quality control and automation of the identification and coding of products and product attributes for use in downstream data reporting to NPD clients. This position will be based in Carlsbad, CA

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding, evolving, and overseeing the core quality processes.
  • Ensuring the quality and timeliness of video games data sets, according to production schedules.
  • Developing proficiency in NPD’s proprietary software such as NAV1, Data Collector, etc.
  • Automating data collection and validation.
  • Identifying retailer or processing problems in the data.
  • Recommending and implementing changes that will either improve quality or decrease timing.
  • Drive Process improvement in everyday work and enforce process standardization.
  • Provide guidance in the planning and launching of critical products for the practice.
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously.
  • Problem solving abilities and ability to meet reasonable deadlines.



  • BA/BS or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years experience
  • Strong aptitude and knowledge of software programs.
  • Knowledge/familiarity with programming languages.
  • Knowledge/familiarity with SQLqueries or other languages.
  • Experience in data processing environment, retailer knowledge, category/industry knowledge and consumer/category knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of data collection and data analysis and interpretation methodologies.
  • Ability to think conceptually and analytically.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Improvement mindset displayed on projects.
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
  • Embraces teamwork & possesses ability to effectively work cross functionally.
  • Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with NPD’s products and services, or be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.
