Associate Market Analyst, Insights and Analytics

About You:
You are a naturally curious, passionate, dynamic, and highly motivated individual who wants to work with the worlds largest gaming brands – and help them overcome their biggest challenges. As an integral member of the Insights & Analytics team, you will be working on high-profile, high-impact custom reports for many of the industry’s leading publishers. Position Overview:
The Insights & Analytics team at EEDAR uses both our proprietary data resources in combination with client and 3rd party data to help our clients tackle their toughest business and marketing issues. This role utilizes consumer and performance data to provide custom reports which contain consulting advice to drive, challenge, and validate strategic business and/or tactical marketing decisions.

  • Leverage consumer survey data and other potential data sources to address client needs.
  • Translate technical and analytical results into valuable business insights and recommendations.


This position is based in Carlsbad, CA.

 

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead writer on reports for client use.
    • Primary focus on consumer survey data.
    • Secondary focus on market performance data.
  • Determine project structure based on data sources and project objectives.
  • Manipulate and analyze performance and consumer data sources.
  • Diligently review inputs for correctness and outputs for accuracy.
  • Develop findings and insight stories to be presented to clients with supervision.
  • Manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in analyzing consumer survey data with at least 2 years of experience at another job or in college.
  • 1-2 years of experience in market research analytics or closely related field, experience with retail point-of-sale (POS) data is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools is a plus (Tableau, Domo, Quicksight, Qlik, etc.)
  • Experienced with SPSS (or equivalent) and the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to manage personal time effectively on tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of the video game industry across verticals including console, PC, and mobile.
  • Strong data management skills and data ‘savvy’; must have data and analytic ‘common sense’ and an ability to detect data issues or concerns in multiple ways.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately, independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to work with big data, complex questions, and complicated analyses.
  • Detail oriented, but with eye on the big picture - the final application.
  • BA/BS required, with a degree from a quantitative field preferred (psychology, statistics, economics, mathematics, etc.).

The ideal candidate must be able to conduct engaging and impactful presentations that deliver value to the client while telling a compelling story in a concise and polished manner to a diverse audience. Most importantly, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer and appropriately match the customer's needs with NPD’s products and services, or be willing to direct the customer to the best solution.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable and effective when talking with a broad range of decision influencers and decision makers within an organization. The candidate will be able to effectively understand and build relationships throughout the prospective customer's organization.

Candidates must possess a "can-do" perspective in their professional attitude. They will be detail oriented and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
